Young European Materials Research Society (Y- EMRS)
Workshop and kick-off meeting

Venue: Room Madrid 1 (Ground floor) - Strasbourg Convention Centre
The half day workshop is planned to take place in the framework of the Spring E-MRS meeting in Strasbourg. The aim is to mobilize the young (under 40) scientists working on Materials science and engineering in Europe and abroad exchanging scientific experiences and setting-up ideas on the formation of a Y–EMRS activity group operating under the auspices and support of the E-MRS
The objectives of the meeting are:
- Young Materials Scientists (under-40) to meet each other on a common platform and exchange views and experiences on current scientific issues
- Experts from academia and industry informing young researchers about different career pathways.
- Informing Young researchers about different funding opportunities such as ERS Grands, Marie Curie etc
- Discuss common interests, generate and expand new ideas and initiatives to contribute to the future of science and E-MRS.
- Discuss the set-up issues related to the effective operation of the Y-EMRS initiative
