OPEN 2016
September 22, 2016 (9:00 - 17:30)
MINI Building, room 213, Warsaw University of Technology
Plac Politechniki 1 - Warsaw, Poland
What is OPEN?
OPEN “Organic Photovoltaics and Electronics Network” was born as an initiative of the fellows of the European-funded FP7 ESTABLIS project, an initial training network (ITN) comprising scientific institutions across Europe working to “ensure the stability of organic solar cells”. OPEN was created with the aim of expanding this network beyond the limits of the ESTABLIS project and the specific field of organic solar cells, bringing up together young researchers working on Organic Photovoltaics and Electronics.
In addition to the clear value associated to the mere existence of this scientific network across Europe, OPEN appears as a tool to help young researchers with their career development. In fact, the second main goal of this organisation is to complement the scientific training of our network members, providing them with the information and training they need to pursue different career pathways after their PhDs or Postdocs.
To this end, we organise annual meetings where networking activities are complemented with first-class lectures and workshops, led by researchers that have followed different career pathways and career development professionals that can help us to identify the key factors determining our job opportunities. Furthermore, our website www.open-organic.com serves as exchange platform for OPEN members, sharing job offers, experiences, and collaboration opportunities.
OPEN 2016
After the great success of OPEN 2015, held in Corsica (France), we are glad to announce that our next networking event is being held as a satellite event to E-MRS Fall Meeting 2016, as a parallel session on the 22nd September 2016. OPEN 2016 welcomes E-MRS participants who are at an early stage in their research careers (PhD students and Postdocs) and want to improve their career prospects. The meeting will combine networking and career development activities in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and with the participation of renowned invited speakers.
It is our wish that the participants to our meeting are able to meet each other and establish new contacts; thus, we limit the number of participants to 40. The places will be assigned on the basis first come, first served. Registration is possible by completing an online form available at our webpage www.open-organic.com.
Further details on the programme, invited speakers, and the benefits of becoming an OPEN member can also be found at our website.
