FRAUNHOFER IWKS

The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies IWKS conducts research at two locations in Alzenau and Hanau. With the aim of transferring finite resources from one product cycle back into a new one, the project group develops innovative processes in the areas of functional materials (magnetic materials, energy materials, analytics) and secondary materials (urban mining, biogenic systems, material flow management). To this end, the researchers develop innovative separation, sorting, processing and substitution opportunities in close cooperation with industrial partners.
