MXenes and related materials


MXenes have left an indelible mark on contemporary materials science, physics, and chemistry, captivating a broad audience ranging from theoreticians to experimentalists. They have been a focal point, as evident from their exponential publication trend. Also novel applications continue to emerge.

Scope:

Since their groundbreaking discovery in 2011, two-dimensional (2D) early transitional metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides, collectively known as MXenes, have captured global fascination. Emerging as a foremost category of 2D materials, MXenes have undergone extensive theoretical predictions and experimental evaluation.
The symposium focuses on MXenes, their chemistry, structures, assemblies, composites and their associated applications, encompassing optics, electronics, electromagnetics, environmental science, catalysis, structural composites, sensing, biomedicine, and energy harvesting, production, and storage, as well as mechanical, thermal and thermoelectric characteristics. This symposium aims to provide an international platform for comprehensive discussions on MXenes, spanning synthesis, properties, and characterization. It considers all facets of fundamental, applied, empirical, and theoretical investigations, including the exploration of MXene-based assemblies and composite structures, along with their integration into functional devices.
Our symposium aspires to assemble researchers hailing from diverse disciplines, including chemistry, physics, biology, materials science, engineering, and health/environmental sciences. It will serve as a pivotal crossroad for experts from various continents to collaborate and synergistically advance the field. Beyond the MXene community, this MXene symposium holds immense potential to engage a broader audience with a general interest in 2D materials and the applications discussed earlier.
We have extended invitations to diverse multidisciplinary speakers, ensuring a rich tapestry of perspectives. Through these dynamic interactions, our primary goal is to cultivate discussions that will steer the course of scientific inquiry, pinpointing the pressing questions that merit our collective attention in the coming era.
